Jason Schneider

Jason Schneider is a 4th Generation Agriculture producer in Vulcan County alongside his wife and two children. Prior to returning to the family farm in 2012, Jason graduated from the Computer Engineering Program at the Southern Alberta Institue of Technology and worked as a System Engineer in the Large Storage and Mainframes field.

Elected to Vulcan County Council in 2013, Jason is currently serving his third term on Council and has served as Reeve of Vulcan County since 2015. During his tenure, Jason has had a first row seat to the energy transformation as several large scale wind and solar projects have been built in Vulcan County. Building strong relationships with developers and neighbours has been crucial for the success of these new energy projects within Vulcan County.

In 2020, Jason was elected by his peers to serve on the RMA (Rural Municipalites of Alberta) Board of Directors as the District 1 (Southern Alberta) Director. On behalf of RMA and its members, Jason has served on numerous provincial boards and committes including: Cows and Fish (Alberta Riparian Habitat Management Society), the NRCB Policy Advisory Group, The Alberta Government Drought and Excessive Moisture Advisory Group (DEMAG), and the Alberta Interm Police Advisory Board. Jason also currenty serves as a board director on the Genesis Reciprocal Insurance Exchange and The Canoe Procurement Group of Canada.
