The Energy Futures Lab
The Energy Futures Lab was created to address a growing sense of polarization in Canada. Since its
inception in 2015, the Lab has brought together stakeholders from across the energy system to
collaboratively develop solutions for a net-zero energy future. This approach has highlighted the
importance of drawing on diverse perspectives to address complex, system-level challenges.
There are over 70 distinct organizations represented in the Lab, and a network of over 20,000
individuals. Its network of over 50 Fellows and 65 Ambassadors are innovators and influencers from
diverse backgrounds: oil and gas, renewable energy, cleantech, information technology, finance,
Indigenous, not-for-profits, the arts, provincial and municipal government, and more.
