Existing Wind Farms face challenging times as they face decommissioning plan requirements at the end of life. The oldest wind farms often have the best locations with the infrastructure already in place. Technological advancements in Turbine Generation provides an avenue to repower existing Wind Farms more than five times in power production. This allows the number of turbines to be decreased, increasing energy production for optimization.
