Description and Background: We will discuss different blade maintenance strategies currently employed, their operational aspects and impact on asset management. We will share real operations data on cost/benefit analysis between different approaches and recommended practices learnt from those. Specifically, we'll be comparing the 1) corrective, 2) preventive and 3) run-to-fail models currently seen within the industry.
The development of blade maintenance strategies towards preventive maintenance is critical, as project lifecycles are reaching 30-year targets and it has become obvious that the current, widely applied, reactive blade maintenance strategies will not enable such extended lifecycles.
